Security Scarf

March 2021

Hand-woven wool, and hand-embroidered cotton. 9.5 x 85 in.

As COVID-19 and quarantine turned people’s lives upside down, my days are blending together. I’m afraid to wear masks but also terrified to not. I use my scarf in place of masks in fear of xenophobia and the virus.

I write in my journal and embroider the words as the days and the pandemic goes on.
